The chemical reactions considered in VCE Biology are limited. This section gives the defintion of the three types of reactions that are of concern in the VCAA Biology study design.
Anabolic reactions are reactions that involve synthesis and require energy to proceed.
These are reactions where a water molecule is lost when a monomer is added to another monomer to form a polymer.
Reactions that breaks down molecules and release energy.
Example: Cellular respiration.
