Paragraph size
Also referred to as varied paragraph sizes, short paragraphs and long paragraphs.
Effect on reader
Writers often vary the sizes of their paragraphs to have different effects. Just as the length of a sentence affects where the emphasis rests, paragraph size directs the reader’s attention and alters the rhythm of a piece.
The length of paragraphs may also be influenced by the nature and audience of a piece. An article with long, beefy paragraphs requires an audience to commit to reading it while shorter, sharper paragraphs may be better suited to a flyer or PowerPoint presentation.
